# MyPlate.food > Free, user-friendly nutrition calculators, recipes, and meal plans built around eight dietary guidelines: USDA MyPlate (United States, 2020-2025), Plato del Bien Comer (Mexico, NOM-043, 2023-present), Canada's Food Guide (Health Canada, 2019-present), Korean Dietary Guidelines (KDRIs 2020, Korean Nutrition Society), the EAT-Lancet Planetary Health Diet (independent academic, 2019/2025) — the first global, planetary-boundary-framed guideline — the ADA Diabetes Plate Method (American Diabetes Association, 2025), a visual no-counting method for adults with diabetes or prediabetes, the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating (NHMRC, 2013), the five-group plate behind the Australian Dietary Guidelines, with energy in kilojoules (the 8,700 kJ reference) and a kJ⟷Calorie toggle, and the German-speaking (D-A-CH) guidelines hub — the BZfE Ernährungspyramide portion pyramid (Sept 2024 revision), the DGE Ernährungskreis and 2024 "Gut essen und trinken" recommendations, and the Austrian and Swiss 2024 models. Uses trusted IOM/USDA equations, SMAE, the joint Canada-US DRI values (IOM 2005), 2020 KDRIs, Poore-Nemecek 2018 GHG estimates, the ADA's 2025 Plan Your Plate, and the DGE/ÖGE (D-A-CH) energy reference values. Available in English, Spanish, Korean, French, and German, with guideline and language as independent choices. Also hosts the complete USDA MyPlate Kitchen recipe library (1,072 recipes preserved after MyPlate.gov was retired in January 2026), free 7-day meal plans by calorie level built entirely from that recipe corpus, and standalone guideline-independent calculators for BMR, TDEE, calorie deficit, macros, protein, ideal weight, and adjusted body weight. MyPlate.food provides food-pattern and DRI calculators for eight dietary frameworks. The USDA MyPlate tools use the IOM Estimated Energy Requirement (EER) equations and USDA food pattern tables from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025. The Plato del Bien Comer tools combine the qualitative plate proportions from NOM-043-SSA2-2012 and the 2023 Guías Alimentarias para la Población Mexicana with quantitative allocations from the Sistema Mexicano de Alimentos Equivalentes (SMAE, Pérez Lizaur et al., Fomento de Nutrición y Salud). The Canada's Food Guide tools present the qualitative Eat Well Plate proportions from Health Canada's 2019 redesign alongside the seven healthy habits, the joint Canada–US DRI water target, the Front-of-Package warning symbol primer (mandatory January 2026), and Indigenous foodways recognition. Users can pick any guideline regardless of their display language. Calculator math runs entirely in the browser — inputs aren't sent to a server unless the user explicitly emails themselves a plan, signs in, or saves a plan to their account; see https://myplate.food/privacy for details. The Korean Dietary Guidelines tools use the 2020 Korean Dietary Reference Intakes (KDRIs) from the Korean Nutrition Society, the Food Balance Bicycle (식품구성자전거) visual, and B-type/A-type serving patterns across six food groups. The site uses the same IOM/DRI energy equations as the other calculators, then maps that kcal estimate onto the published Korean serving patterns. Education pages cover Korean meal structure (bap + guk + banchan), fermented foods (kimchi, doenjang, gochujang), Korea's sodium challenge (3,243 mg/day average), the nine official dietary messages, and children's food labeling. The ADA Diabetes Plate adaptation is a visual no-counting method built on a 9-inch plate with three sections (½ non-starchy vegetables, ¼ lean protein, ¼ quality carbohydrates) plus a water-or-zero-calorie beverage rule, sourced from the ADA's 2025 Plan Your Plate handout (PE25). It intentionally has no calculator — the method is explicitly "without counting, weighing, or measuring." Education pages cover the three sections (with explicit treatment of two non-obvious classification rules: plant proteins straddle two groups, and dairy is a carb here), hand-portion cues, eating-pattern overlays (Mediterranean, DASH, low-carb / very-low-carb, vegetarian/vegan, low-fat — all explicitly endorsed by the ADA as compatible patterns), beverage guidance, and methodology. The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating tools present the five food groups and NHMRC serve counts with energy in kilojoules, plus an original cleanroom treatment of the Healthy Eating Pyramid. The German-speaking (D-A-CH) hub at https://myplate.food/ernaehrungspyramide (German-primary, with English at /ernaehrungspyramide/en) documents the BZfE Ernährungspyramide 22-Baustein portion model with an interactive Portionsrechner day tracker, the DGE Ernährungskreis and the eleven 2024 "Gut essen und trinken" recommendations (which replaced the 10 Regeln in March 2024), the two 2024 Austrian pyramids plus gesunder Teller, the September-2024 Swiss Lebensmittelpyramide, and a DGE/ÖGE (D-A-CH) energy-requirements lookup built on the published Richtwerte table and the Müller 2004 resting-energy equation. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by the USDA, the Secretaría de Salud de México, Health Canada, the Korean government/KNS, the American Diabetes Association, the NHMRC, or the German, Austrian, or Swiss nutrition societies and agencies (DGE, BZfE/BLE, ÖGE, AGES, BMSGPK, SGE, BLV). MyPlate.food is used in online courses at 80+ schools, colleges and universities, measured from institution-branded learning-management-system referrer domains (Canvas, Schoology, Brightspace, Blackboard and *.edu course sites) over a five-week window in August 2026. ## USDA MyPlate — English - [Food Pattern Calculator](https://myplate.food/calculator): Calculate personalized daily calorie needs and food group targets using IOM EER equations across three USDA dietary patterns (US-Style, Mediterranean, Vegetarian) - [All Calculators](https://myplate.food/calculators): Directory of all 19 free nutrition calculators on one page — the MyPlate plan, calories/TDEE/BMR, macros, protein, DRI, BMI, body fat, waist ratios, 1RM, and more, grouped by task, each with published formulas and sources (ItemList JSON-LD; also at /es/calculadoras, /ko/계산기-모음, /fr/calculatrices, /de/alle-rechner) - [Meal Planner](https://myplate.food/meal-planner): Plan a balanced week from your MyPlate targets — get your daily food-group amounts, choose a calorie-level plan, and swap in USDA recipes (HowTo + FAQPage JSON-LD) - [Calorie Tracker](https://myplate.food/calorie-tracker): How to track calories and the five food groups against your personalized MyPlate targets, with a free daily food log in a MyPlan account (HowTo + FAQPage JSON-LD) - [Food Lookup](https://myplate.food/food-lookup): Per-portion calories, protein, carbs, and fat for 5,740 USDA FoodData Central foods — search or browse USDA's own food-group categories, with household portions ("1 egg", "1 teaspoon") and one-tap logging to the MyPlan tracker (WebApplication + FAQPage JSON-LD; also in Spanish, Korean, French, and German) - [More Fitness Tools](https://myplate.food/fitness-tools): Directory of free fitness-test calculators and standards by age — Presidential Fitness Test, military PT, VO₂max, strength, and flexibility — on the sister site presidentialtest.fitness (ItemList JSON-LD) - [DRI Calculator](https://myplate.food/dri-calculator): Get personalized daily recommended intakes for 14 vitamins, 15 minerals, and macronutrients based on age, sex, and life stage - [Food Groups](https://myplate.food/food-groups): Learn about the five USDA food groups, serving sizes, and healthy tips - [Portion Sizes](https://myplate.food/portions): Visual portion size guide using hand measurements and everyday objects for all five USDA food groups - [Methodology](https://myplate.food/methodology): Complete transparency — EER equations, PA coefficients, food pattern tables, DRI reference values, BMI formulas, and sources with links - [Editorial Policy](https://myplate.food/editorial-policy): How the site is made and kept accurate: built with production-software engineering practices (versioned sources, automated tests before every release, reproducible builds) by a developer, not a dietitian; calculator math from primary sources (IOM 2005 & NASEM 2023 DRI equations, Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025, named published formulas for the body and fitness tools) and machine-verified before every release, with a published "How the math is verified" table of reproducible verification scenarios, each re-run against the live code before every release and labeled by where its expected answer comes from (a number printed in the source, a number calculated from the source's equation or cutoffs, or a rule of thumb); deterministic USDA data; AI-assisted translations with automated structural/number-drift checks, native professional review pending per locale; content not yet independently reviewed by a credentialed professional (RD/RDN review invited); corrections at hello@myplate.food.
