MyPlan — Your Free MyPlate Account: Saved Plans, Cookbook & Food Log
MyPlan is the free account on MyPlate.food. The calculator, recipes and meal plans work without it — an account adds saved plans, a cookbook, and daily food logging.
The tools are free. The account is where your work lives.
The calculator, recipes, and meal plans are free without signing in — and so is a MyPlan account, which keeps your work in one place: saved plans, a drag-and-drop meal planner, a recipe cookbook, and a daily food log.
Every core tool on MyPlate.food works without an account. A MyPlan account doesn't unlock them — it remembers them: your plan, your recipes, and what you ate.
No account needed

Save your results — and make one your target
Run the MyPlate Plan calculator and save the result to your account. Keep a few as your numbers change, then mark one as your active plan — its calorie goal and five food-group targets become what your tracker and dashboard measure against. Open the MyPlate Plan calculator
- Keep more than one set of results and switch between them
- Your active plan sets the targets your tracker scores against
- Reopen the full breakdown any time — no re-entering numbers
A daily food log that fills in your plate
Log what you eat in two taps and watch your calorie ring and MyPlate plate fill in against your targets. Each food group colors in as you go, so you can see whether the day is balanced — not just under a number. See the tracker
- Two-tap logging from your recents, the recipe library, or a quick entry
- The plate-balance view shows all five groups against your plan
- Unlimited history, and it pins to your home screen like an app
The calories in the portions you actually eat
Search 5,740 USDA foods and read the number for a real portion — a boiled egg is 72 calories, a teaspoon of granulated sugar is 15. No gram math and no crowdsourced guess: every food names its USDA FoodData Central source, and one tap sends what you found to today's log. Open the food lookup
- Calories plus protein, carbs, and fat for the portion you picked
- 95% come with household portions — cups, slices, spoons
- One tap adds what you found to today's log
Plan the week on a drag-and-drop board
Drag any of the 1,072 USDA recipes onto a day and the board tallies that day against your plan's targets as you build it. Print the week or save it as a PDF for the fridge — and send a planned day straight to your tracker. See the meal planner
- Drag recipes onto any day; each day balances against your targets
- Print the week or save it as a PDF to take to the store
- Log a planned day to your tracker in one tap

MyPlan — FAQ
Is MyPlan free?
Yes. The account and everything it saves — your plans, your cookbook, your food log — cost nothing, and the core tools work with or without one.
What does a MyPlan account add?
Five things: saved plans you can activate as your daily targets, a drag-and-drop meal planner, a cookbook for recipes you've saved, a food lookup that answers what a portion costs you in calories, and a daily food log that fills in your MyPlate plate. The calculator, recipes, and meal plans work without one.
Do the tools work without an account?
Yes. The MyPlate Plan calculator, all 1,072 recipes, the meal plans, printables, and quizzes need no signup. An account adds a place to save your work, plan your week, and track your days.
What happens to my data?
Your saved plans, cookbook, and food log are tied to your account and used only to show you your own numbers. We don't sell your data. The privacy policy has the full detail on what's stored and why.
How do I delete my MyPlan account?
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting it removes your profile, saved plans, and cookbook from our database. The privacy policy explains exactly what's removed.
