  1. Wash hands with soap and water.
  2. Wash and then cut apples in quarters.
  3. Apples can be peeled, but fiber will be decreased.
  4. Combine apples and water in saucepan.
  5. Heat to boiling.
  6. Turn heat to low as soon as the water is boiling.
  7. Simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
  8. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  9. Stir in sugar and heat until sugar is dissolved.
