Grandma's Stuffing

This stuffing has lots of crunch and flavor from the apples, celery, and onions. Whole wheat bread gives this recipe a boost of whole grains.

Directions

  1. Wash hands with soap and water.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 °F. Put cubes in a large bowl.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Put water in medium saucepan.
  5. Add onion, celery, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Do not drain.
  8. Pour over bread cubes.
  9. Stir in milk and egg.
  10. Gently stir in apples, and raisins, if desired.
  11. Spoon into a greased 2-quart baking dish.
  12. Bake at 350 °F for 1 hour.
