Applesauce Cookies
This simple spice cookie is based on applesauce.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine (or butter or shortening)
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups applesauce, unsweetened
- 1 cup raisins
- nuts (1 cup, optional)
Directions
- For Cookies: Drop dough by heaping teaspoon several inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 350 °F for 10 to 12 minutes. For Cake: Bake at 350 °F in an 8x8 inch pan for 40 minutes.
